@Amber: there's nothing half as stimulating as learning new things, especially about sex :-)

@alexslogan: thank you :-)

@Christina: interesting.  Aundre's name is familiar from Google I think.

@Smith Curren: your welcome.  I am very interested to see how other male companions promote themselves.  It's quite a journey for me going from basically no marketing (just word of mouth) to promotion on the web.

Thanks MC.  Love your tag line by the way.  It seems oh so appropriate for this context.

@NoGNoG: just goes to show how much of eroticism is in the mind.

I personally enjoy looking at other people with body art and jewellery and find it quite attractive, but just never made the leap to doing it to myself.

@NoGNoG: thank you :-)

@lucifer: Thank you, and cheers to you too!

@Christina: thank you, good to see that I am not alone.  Are there many other Australian members?

@Smith Curren: thank you.  I have just been browsing your website, which looks really good.  Well done.

I have no body modifications at all (other two quite minor scars from dropping a bike).  I have thought about it occasionally over the years, but honestly, I really like my body the way that it is.  I have never been big on jewelery, so piercings are out.  Tattoos just don't do it for me either.  So, I just concentrate on staying trim and fit.

I have a friend who has a clitoral hood piercing though.  She needed someone to hold her hand (and knees) when it was being done, so I went along as support.  It was rather a fun experience (almost no pain for her apparently).  She wanted me to get an ampalang (Google it if you dare), but that was just plain scary even to contemplate.

Male Companion Marketing / Re: Generating Clientele
« on: July 06, 2010, 04:42:55 AM »
Hi Lucifer,

I will chime in with everyone else and say: word of mouth.  That has been how customer have found me in the past.

I have recently set up a website though and am contemplating the same issues as you.  My main goal at the moment is to get a feel for what generates traffic to the site, and what generates inquiries from the traffic.

Google analytics has been mentioned and I agree.  I use it to track traffic numbers, how people are finding the site, and what they are interested in and looking at.  Analytics and the Google Web Master Tools are perfect for that.

People who come to my site via a link on another site tend to go on and look at the most pages (which I take to mean that they are interested, so most likely to contact me).

So I try to spend time finding relevant articles (posts to do with male escorts and female sexuality) posted in blogs and news papers online and replying to them if I have something relevant to say.  I won't post a comment if it doesn't add anything to the conversation.  This inevitably brings traffic to my site, but I do try to avoid anything that is blatantly commercial as I don't want to be blocked or moderated.

It has been surprising to find that many conversations out there on the Internet about male escorts and their services never include any male escorts! So, I try to fill that gap if I can.

So far, these kinds of referrals bring about 70% of the traffic I see each day.  I haven't had enough new inquiries yet though to know if they are going to generate significant sales.

Something that the Google Web Master Tools has also helped me to do is work out what search terms and keywords I need to be concentrating on.  I revised the naming of a number of my pages and articles early on after seeing that they were generating traffic that didn't hang around.

The end result is that my site's ranking for the search terms that I have concentrated on has gradually improved over the month that the site has been online.  Give it another six months and I expect that the site will be ranking well.

Building this site and improving it has been a very interesting process.  I am happy to talk more about this stuff if it would be useful to you.

Introductions / John Oh, an introduction
« on: July 06, 2010, 03:11:52 AM »

I would like to introduce myself, my name is John Oh.  I am a 38 year old male escort based in Sydney, Australia.

I have been a male escort for women for about twelve years, with a small group of clients that I have met by word of mouth in Sydney and Melbourne.  I also run an IT business.

I have recently built a website to advertise my services.  You can find it here:

I am looking forward to joining the discussions on this forum, sharing ideas, and hearing advice.  From what I have seen so far Concierge du Monde looks like a great community.
