Just started reading the work of poet Mary Oliver and her words speak to me: 'Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?'

Manager is encouraging me to apply for a development program at work: 2 year rotation, four locations, six months in each location, with one overseas location.  Not sure if he thinks I'm up for it, or wants me far away  /LOL

Love that quote :). Also, that sounds like quite an adventure!

This bit seems well suited for this place:

to live in this world

you must be able
to do three things
to love what is mortal;
to hold it

against your bones knowing
your own life depends on it;
and, when the time comes to let it go,
to let it go
― Mary Oliver, New and Selected Poems, Vol. 1

Excellent use of a Jimmy Buffett song!  As a true Parrothead, I find he has a song for most occasions.  /seren

That moment when you're conversing with a co-worker who begins crap-talking someone whose made a mistake; not realizing that you are the person who made that mistake...

Yes, I let him know and never have I seen someone get back on topic so quickly!

Honestly, it made me laugh :)

Thanks, NoGNoG!

Flying home this week discovered that a certain airline's wifi doesn't approve of CdM and disallows access to it while on their network.  :P

You handled that brilliantly! We wish I could have seen the look on his face.

Just found out that yesterday was National Irish Coffee Day. I found out late but I definitely celebrated early!  /drink

I detest anything and everything pertaining to payroll in the month of January!

And what a lucky gal I am Smith showed up to take me away from it all!  The Weekenders were in session to start the weekend on Thursday. Absolutely beautiful day in The City and we found an oasis and a hill to show us the lights coming up on The City. What a fab short respite. Thank you, Smith.
