Hi all,

Though I've had some very early success through word-of-mouth and some local advertising, I know I'll need a proper website to expand my range of opportunities - unfortunately, this requires good quality photographs and while my blurry mobile phone camera is good enough to snap my friends in the act of doing something stupid, it's not really good enough to show me at my best.

Does anyone know what price-range of camera would be required to create a fairly professional looking range of shots?  Would it be necessary to go to a studio?  And if so, does anyone know any in London (and would any of them be 'accomodating' to nudes?)

Thanks

My advice would be to hire a professional photographer to make you look your best. I'm sure one of the other gentlemen on the forum know some great photographers in London that could help you out.

When I used to model, I would get TFP or TFCD (Time For Print or Time For CD). In exchange for your time, they would give you a free session, plus a CD of images, some they would even retouch for free. If you go onto One Model Place or Model Mayhem, you can find some talented photographers that you may consider working with. I got a whole bunch of beautiful pictures for free by finding the right people who became my personal friends whom I worked well with.

Hope that helps. ;D

Yeah, that can be true as well. I still have photographers that haven't given my pics at all! >:(

But if you're lucky to find a great photographer like I did to give you a TFCD session, then it would be worth it. I'm sure Storm's photographer will hook you up. :)

You're welcome, Holly. Glad the advice was helpful. ;D

LadyLuck's suggestion for searching ModelMayhem is spot on.  I was going to do exactly that until a great opportunity came along with a friend-of-a-friend.

Make sure you find someone that you have a good rapport with so you can collaborate on the images.  You know better than anyone else what message you're trying to convey in your marketing, so it's important that you find someone who will take that and bring it out in the pictures.
