Welcome Melodious!

It's lovely to meet you here! I am a newbie also (from Australia) and have been enjoying my time connecting with everyone here in these forums! I am sure you will enjoy being here too!

Please tell us a little more about yourself, and as has been mentioned, please feel free to ask questions, post your thoughts & most of all have FUN!

Fondly, James  /clap

Hi Melodious,

Welcome to CDM.

Speaking of classical music, I saw this Stravinsky gig a while back. The strings (all female) became a choir for one piece and returned to strings for the rest.

That was quite different.

The central piece was the opera oratario Oedipus Rex. Probably not a lot of hummable numbers in that though I liked it.

Hi. Since no one has yet greeted you here - everyone is sooo introverted :-)  - I'll do it.

Hi!

I'm in NYC also. And also a newbie of sorts, as this is my sixth or seventh post since joining as a companion.

Everyone's been super nice to me here and I'm sure they'll be same with you.

Hello again, everyone!  My goodness!  It's been over a year since I posted on the forum.  I've recently lost a loved one and I'm just starting to get back to my old life.

Anyway, I just wanted to say a belated thank you for the warm welcome, and I look forward to spending more time here and getting to know you lovely people.

Please tell us a little more about yourself, and as has been mentioned, please feel free to ask questions, post your thoughts & most of all have FUN!

Let's see, what can I tell you?  I recently returned from a trip to Germany where I spent Thanksgiving with my Dad, who lives there.  I'm back in New York now and gearing up for a very busy month of singing.  Lots of Messiahs!

Hi, Lucifer!  Stravinsky is so, so cool.  I sang in a festival dedicated to his sacred works back in 2013.  I particularly love his 'Symphony of Psalms,' "Requiem Canticles,' and 'Mass.'  My friend James recently conducted a performance of the 'Rite of Spring' in Brooklyn and someone actually crowd-surfed!  It was pretty wild.
