I saw aphrodisiac music listed in another thread and thought it would be fun to revisit it.  Whether it is the driving beat, the passionate lyrics, or the soulfulness of the groove, music has a way of setting the mood for some of our most memorable lovemaking sessions.  Here are some of the songs that have an excellent track record for me.

What songs would be on the Love to Love Ya Soundtrack for you?

Oooh, GJ, I love "You Body is a Wonderland", too!  I miss John Mayer when he used to be humble and inspired.  I also like Michael Buble.  And is there a hotter song than Hot Choclolate's "You Sexy Thing"?  Well, one could argue Exile's "Kiss You All Over".  It's the driving beat in these songs that is the most erotic.  The rhythm is evocative of our more primal instincts.

I am going to check out the other songs and artists.  Thank you so much for sharing them.

GJ,

I love "Chasing Cars" both the original and the cover.  Thanks for introducing me to Kate Ceberano. I like her.  It seems it's hard not to have a hit when you write a song about your dog.  Here are two other truly beautiful songs written about man and woman's best friend:

Shannon by Henry Gross

Heavenly Day by Patty Griffin

Thanks Ari, I am not familiar so will check them out too! Music is so evocative of emotion.. romance.. and our more primal instincts. I do love mixing it up personally. I'm pleased you like Kate Ceberano, she really is very talented!

Last night I caught some of a documentary featuring John Mayer, Billy Joel & Michael Buble singing their songs in new arrangements with Barbara Streisand! Different and really beautiful! I love the power of her voice :)

Some others of old school choice would be....

George Michael ('Fastlove' would be a favourite, but 'Flawless' is super cool)
Prince (particularly Little Red Corvette)
Heart (most of their stuff, but 'Crazy on You' & 'Magic Man' is awesome!)
Sugababes - Too lost in you
Duran Duran - Reflex
Tom Jones - Sexbomb would have to be a classic
Pussycat dolls mash up of Hot Stuff is pretty catchy
Mondo Rock - Come said the Boy
Jon Stevens/Noiseworks - Hot Chilli Woman, Touch somebody, Burning Feeling... so many others!
Pat Benatar - All Fired Up
ZZ Top - Sharp Dressed Man
INXS - Need you tonight

I must admit, while I love the swoony music when the time is right, I much prefer the harder rock, and the sexy beats ;)

Yes, GJ, there was definitely some Prince on my list but I left him off because I couldn't find any vids on youtube.  "When Doves Cry" and "Erotic City" always gets me going.  I'm a fan of George Michael's slower songs.  He has an amazing voice, even now.  Heart's "Straight on for You" driving beat is so erotic I feel it at my core.  And ZZ Top's "Legs" always make me wanna strut.

I wish I could put some newer songs on the list, but so many of them are so disposable that they are not memorable or they get so much rotation on the airwaves you can't stomach hearing them anymore.  I love all aphrodisiacs and music is one of the best.

Thanks for the playlist Pennylover. I have about half of those songs on my playlist now but I am always looking to update. Funny to say update when we are talking about the classics. Just reading your list had the memories rushing in.

Hi Cristian,

You sound like my kind of man.  I'm a girl who's all about the groove.  Once I'm in it it can take me anywhere.  I also like Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud", which he admits he pretty much ripped off from Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On".  I think may be a lawsuit in Ed's future from Gaye's estate, but there is no denying it's a belly-rubbing song.

A man who turns me inside out put me onto "The Weeknd" and I'm loving his stuff right now.  I like silence, music and closeness and I like to see how my body responds.

One can always try to copy Marvin Gaye but they can never duplicate it. No one's got that velvet voice. As for "Weekend" I don't think I have heard their music. Will have to check them out.

I always find it amazing how music can influence one's emotions and bring back memories. There is no better feeling than being with someone special and having the beat of the music takeover.

I wanna talk about you everyday Pennylover :)

To my "Weekender" - Having this going through my head will always have me remembering our 2015 Spring Fling.  Plus knowing time was too short.

Christian,

Do check out The Weeknd.  He's amazing.  Just one listen and you'll see what I mean.

You're absolutely right, now one will ever duplicate Marvin Gaye.  I don't think there are any who will seriously try.

And as for talking to me everyday?  In the words of the immortal Al Green:  Here I am.  Come and take me.

What a coincidence!! This morning I am reading the news headlines and see an article about a jury finding Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams guilty of copyright infringement for Marvin Gayes "Got to give it up". It says they will have to pay 7.3 million to Marvin Gaye's family.

Wow!! Pennylover do you know what the winning lottery numbers are this week.

Cristian,

That lawsuit has been going on for some time.  I expect that there will be more back and forth in it before it is truly over.  It is obvious Thicke ripped off "Got to Give it Up", just like it is obvious that Ed ripped off "Let's Get It On".  Ed even admitted that he was approached to write a song like "Let's Get It On" for One Direction.  After completing the song, Ed decided it was too good and decided to keep it for himself.  Perhaps he felt that since music copyright infringements are so difficult to prove he might face a lawsuit yet still come out ahead.  I like Ed, but I'm afraid there is a lawsuit in his future.  The Gaye estate does go after copyright infringement (as they should.  Intellectual property should be protected).

Now, you have to tell me about some of the songs on your playlist.  I showed you mine.
