What is a book or movie you have started several times but have never finished?

A book called Ardath:Story of a Dead Self by Marie Corelli. It's an old book about reincarnation, but it gets boring to me every time.

A book named The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien

I contemplated windowpane at one attempt to read it.   :P

The movie was a relief to me when it came out.  :)

Hmm, the movies weren't all that good. They could have done one movie, maybe two. Three was just a grab for dollars.

Agreed! Though, I'd be lying if I said I didn't totally fork over my money to watch all three at the cinema. The Hobbit I read, but I keep getting interrupted with the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I can't tell you how many times I've picked up Fellowship of the Ring, only to get side-tracked.  I don't know what it is -- I absolutely enjoy the story, something just always comes up.

Same with 1984, which I have been trying to read since I was 14...

You could hire a companion to read it aloud for you; at least if you get distracted it will be more fun

+1
Though, I believe I would pick a different book.  Such as a book of Keats' poems or Shakespeare sonnets.
