I just read an article about the Ex-CEO of rentboy.com being sentenced to 6 months in prison. It has some interesting reasoning for the sentence and the longevity (or lack thereof) of it.

This only served the government in asset forfeiture, what the CEO had in the bank at time of seizure.

The human trafficking is the sham going on.  Non-Profits are getting money to offer services to those found to be trafficking and no one knows what the hell they really do.

If anyone would know of human trafficking for sex it would be the sex worker community.
All this did was make it harder to advertise for work and harder to be safe.

All too often the government just wants to give the illusion of doing something.

The human trafficking is the sham going on.  Non-Profits are getting money to offer services to those found to be trafficking and no one knows what the hell they really do.
Additionally, Sex Worker organizations who advocate on the the behalf of SWers have been vigorously opposed to human trafficking yet these non-profits do not work with them nor SW themselves.

Definitely! BP was ubiquitous.
